Here are some photos from our trip to Granite Park and Sperry Chalets in Glacier National Park, July 27 - August 2.
The trip was a combination of adventure and misadventure as the alternator went out on my Subaru on the Going-to-the-Sun Road the first day of the trip. With the help of friends, acquaintances, complete strangers, and the Park's shuttle service, we were able to continue our trip to Granite Park Chalet as planned. Fortunately, friends were coming up from Missoula for the second part of the trip and we made arrangements for them to pick up the repaired car on their way into the Park. Unfortunately, the rebuilt replacement alternator failed on the drive up. We were able to pull things together, get the the original repair shop to handle the problem, and continue to Sperry Chalet.
The car problems made for a somewhat stressful holiday, but everyone involved gets points for adapting (and waiting...........a lot).
